1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing the HalfBold browser extension, accessing our website, or subscribing to HalfBold Pro, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the extension or services.

2. Free Services & HalfBold Pro

Free Webpage Reading: Core webpage text highlighting, fixation depth adjustments, font customizations, and site-specific rules are provided free of charge without requiring a paid subscription.

HalfBold Pro: Advanced document features—including the dedicated PDF Reader with text reflow, Google Docs reader, Focus mode dimming, and on-device OCR for scanned documents—are premium features unlocked through an active Pro subscription or lifetime access license.

Availability: HalfBold Pro is planned and not on sale yet. Until it launches, free users can preview the document tools within the free limits, and Sections 3 and 4 apply only once Pro subscriptions open.

3. Subscriptions, Billing & Cancellation

Pro subscriptions and checkout are provided through our payment infrastructure partner, Monetize. Current prices, billing periods (monthly, annual, or lifetime), applicable taxes, and any eligible trial periods are displayed in the extension’s checkout interface prior to purchase confirmation.

Automatic Renewal: Recurring subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled prior to the renewal date.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time directly through the HalfBold extension settings or the secure billing portal. Upon cancellation, your Pro access remains active until the end of your current prepaid billing period.

Refunds: Refund requests are handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws and payment processor policies. If you experience technical defects preventing access, contact support at definitelynotswissalps@gmail.com.

4. User Account & License

Pro licenses are associated with your authenticated email address. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use HalfBold Pro across your personal browser profiles.

You agree not to reverse-engineer, redistribute, resell, or circumvent digital license verification mechanisms of the software.

Google Chrome, Google Docs, Microsoft Edge, Kindle, and other third-party product names are trademarks of their respective owners. HalfBold is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google LLC, Microsoft Corporation, or Amazon.com, Inc.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HalfBold shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the extension, third-party site layout shifts, or service interruptions.
